This quirky story follows a despairing gorilla as she tries to guide her dance troupe through rehearsals. The sloth is always asleep, the elephant is clumsy, the pelican is shy, the polar bear can’t work with his props, and the crocodile is always gnawing on things.
On the night of the show, Miss Gorilla watches in horror as the dancers trip over each other. All but one—Mrs. Sleepy Sloth has finally woken up, and she’s a marvel! She must have been dancing in her dreams.
Bright illustrations full of movement complement this fun story. The rhyming verse is all dialogue from Mrs. Gorilla as she urges her students to stay on-task. Funny and charming, the troupe’s antics make for a very enjoyable read—with an unpredictable ending!
