    Blue Jasper has returned to Faerieland for another exciting adventure! Blue made a deal with his friend Salix, a water faerie, to help him locate the missing entrance to his home, Merwood, which vanished in the aftermath of the terrible faerie war many years ago. Together with Salix, Blue’s brother Indigo, and their other friend Finola, Blue travels to the mysterious Wherewood, the place where all lost things go. Throughout the journey, they meet new friends, avoid danger,  and finally discover the lost entrance to Merwood.

    Soon after reaching Merwood, tragedy strikes. Salix is kidnapped by the villainous Olea, faerie queen of the treacherous Witherwood, and Blue finds himself stuck in a distant cursed Wood with his sister Violet. Just when all hope seemed lost, Blue and Violent execute a daring plan to rescue Salix, rob Olea of her powers, and defeat the wicked faerie queen once more. The valiant friends escape Witherwood, and Blue is able to once again return to the human world, wondering what magical adventures still await him in Faerieland.

    The second instalment in Gabrielle Prendergast’s magical Faerie Woods series, The Wherewood is a fun, exciting, magic-filled adventure. With strong fantasy themes and a well-structured, easy-to-follow story, this tale is a wonderful reluctant reader for those with an interest in magic and folklore.
