    Review

All Paisley wants is to be like her idol, Denzi, a talented pop singer from her hometown. Paisley's voice is unique and beautiful, and she knows she has the talent to make it in the music industry- if she can ever overcome her stage fright and actually sing for an audience.

To make things more difficult, it seems like everyone is against her. Paisley's mother is a classical flautist who doesn't believe that pop music is real music. Paisley's even been rejected by the Sweetland Singers, the most popular choir in her town. Her friend, Jasmeer, believes in her singing ability, but Paisley can't find the same confidence in herself.

But then Maxine Gaston, one of the most famous singers in the world, offers to coach her privately. Paisley finds herself signing up for the town's fundraiser concert -- to sing a solo - and chooses one of Denzi's songs.

The rehearsal goes terribly -- Paisley can't make a sound -- but Maxine helps her overcome her fear and sing on the night of the show. When Denzi shows up at the fundraiser, they sing her song together. A video of Paisley's performance goes viral, but most importantly, the experience gives Paisley the self-confidence to follow her dreams.

A gorgeous story of friendship and self-belief. Paisley's struggles with stage fight make her a sympathetic protagonist. Her underdog position in the town's music scene will have readers cheering when she shows everyone what she's made of. Paisley's resilience and courage make her a great role model for aspiring singers.
