Thoughtful, kind Isabelle is the only Isabelle in Year 1—that is until Isobel arrives. Everyone calls them old Isabelle and new Isobel. As the two girls get to know one another, Isabelle decides that maybe she doesn’t mind being one of a pair—but since she already had problems standing out, so how can she avoid fading into the background?
Over the course of four short, simple stories, Isabelle gains a friend and a Star of the Week, gets lost, loses a prized possession, and helps everyone around her. She gains recognition for her kind, understanding attitude and the way she is always helping in the background—whether by calmly explaining changes in routine to an upset Isabelle or consistently using good manners.
A sweet, simple book filled with lively pen illustrations that bring the characters to life. Young readers will delight in the gentle lessons Isabelle learns about finding identity, patience, and forgiveness.
