"An absolute masterpiece. Beautifully written." The Book Snob

In a time where we all need to be reminded that we are one world, this truly remarkable book journeys through the special constellations in both the northern and southern hemisphere sky, providing a poetic look into their broader meaning. Children will marvel at everything the universe has created for us, from Vulpecula (The Little Fox), to Lepus (The Hare), a very special constellation just south of the equator, that can miraculously be seen from the northern hemisphere in winter. This is not just a story of the constellations, though. Carefully woven throughout the story is children of all races and abilities. Why? Because no matter who we are and where we come from, we all play an equal part in marvelling at, and ultimately holding up, the sky.

    Review

The stars in our sky all tell a story—when we connect the constellations together, their tales become clear. From the story of the Raven (Corvus), who got its black wings after angering the god Apollo, to the Dragon (Draco), who guarded Hera’s wondrous golden apples, to the Winged Horse (Pegasus), who was gifted a place in the sky so he might live on forever. Every star and constellation tells its own unique story, just as each person has their own special life and story. Just like the stars, we are all connected, and our stories all interweave.

This lovely picture book draws on Greek mythology while also offering a wonderful message about connectedness for young readers. The constellations depicted in the story are rendered beautifully, bringing the beautiful patterns to life along with the rhyming structure of the text.
