When Mitch Harding makes an impulse buy, he really goes big. He spends his entire savings on a wrecked dirt bike after witnessing a rider crash it at an Endurocross race. He is now the proud owner of a used bike, one that needs a lot of work. With the help of his uncle, an ex-pro rider, and new friend Kelsey, a championship rider, they get the bike up and running. But a bet with the previous owner threatens to strip Mitch of his hard-earned vehicle. Whoever wins the next race gets to keep the bike.

Mitch is determined to win. But partway through the race he discovers Kelsey lying on the trail, her bike on its side. With serious injuries and no way to get help, Kelsey has no choice but to ride out. But as Mitch and Kelsey push to get off the mountain, the path to safety gets more complicated.

    Review

Mitch used to ride dirt bikes with his dad all the time as a kid, but they haven't done it in years; Mitch has now outgrown his bike and his dad is constantly away for work. When Logan, a rider at the track announces that he wants to sell his old bike, Mitch immediately jumps at the chance and buys it.

Unfortunately, as his uncle points out, he paid more for the bike than it was worth: most of the parts have to be replaced, some need fixing, and the graphics are shot. They make a deal with Logan -- if Mitch fixes the bike and paces higher than Logan in a race, Logan has to pay Mitch half of his money back. But if Mitch loses the race, he has to return the bike to Logan.

With the help of his uncle Jamie, bike shop owner Darren and his new friend Kelsey -- one of the best female dirt bike riders in Canada at only 15 -- Mitch knows they'll be able to fix the bike. But on the day of the race, Kelsey gets into an accident and Mitch sacrifices his chance at beating Logan to help her get to safety.

Logan gives him another chance to beat him. As they're prepping for the race, they discover that someone has changed the track, making it far more dangerous. Mitch makes the treacherous journey back to warn the organisers. When the race finally goes ahead, he beats Logan and wins the bike fair and square.

Mitch is a great example of sportsmanship and integrity in action. He always places the health and safety of others before the race, no matter how much is at stake. Ultimately, it's his courage and good character that allow him to win.
